Filling stations sell fuel without limit but increase prices

uel can now be purchased without limit at the local filling stations but the price of a liter of 92 Ron octane has increased by 50 kyats, according to some customers in Yangon Region.

On April 19, domestic fuel prices were Ks1,890 per liter of 92 Ron octane, Ks1,975 per liter of 95 Ron octane, Ks2,150 per liter of diesel and Ks2,180 per liter of premium diesel.

On April 20, however, the prices were Ks1,940 per liter of 92 Ron octane, Ks1,985 per liter of 95 Ron octane, Ks2,160 per liter of diesel and Ks2,310 per liter of premium diesel. Therefore, the price of 92 Ron octane has increased by Ks50 and that of premium diesel Ks130.

“Today, we see the prices increase. But there are no more queues. We can buy fuel as much as we need,” said a local motorist in Yangon city.

Limited sales of fuel in the filling stations in Yangon led to long queue of vehicles on April 19 in several cities of Myanmar such as Yangon, Mandalay and Mawlamyine following rumours about fuel shortages.
